When I finally do get a job, these babies are my first purchase. After all, a working girl needs sassy shoes.

Guilty pleasure

I have always loved my alone time. I absolutely love my time to myself tucked away in my little pink room. Just divine, really. During this "me time" I do one of three things. I either read blogs, watch bad television, or pour through website after website looking for house stuff. House stuff=lamps, bedding, tables, chairs, fabrics, curtains. I suppose I feel like I should be prepared if, say, someone asks me to marry them tomorrow and BAM I have to know what I'm going to decorate a house with. I can't wait to be able to decorate a whole house. The idea of this really thrills me--probably more than it should. I just so look forward to having a fresh canvas. I mean right now, living in a near-campus house with my three college roommates is lovely. However, I do look forward to a house where the furniture and decor flows. And a place with pillows that haven't been chewed by two golden retriever puppies. Thank you, Barkley and Bailey.
I decided a good way to keep track of my favorites would be to keep them here, in my blog. Here we go.

So long undergrad...

This morning I went to my very last class as an undergraduate student. The picture above is of my favorite building on campus, Flanagan. This point in my life is bittersweet. I am excited to be moving on to a new chapter in life. However, I felt downright sad walking back through campus today. 4 years ago, (okay 5...) I never imagined the journey I would have here at East Carolina University. I have grown tremendously. I have made some of the best friends I will ever know. ECU will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Some of my favorite things about my time here:

1) Alpha Delta Pi

2) Living in the dorm with Tess

3) Getting all (read: most) of my craziness out

4) Meeting Tyler

5) Getting Barkley

Of course, these are just highlights. I have also made taken significant steps towards becoming more domestic. I now know how to make about 10 things (dishes) successfully. I will not list these things because it would be slightly embarassing. But yep, those are the top things. So long East Carolina!

Number 1

After spending an entire afternoon reading so many great blogs, I caved and decided to make my own. I literally spent hours reading through the stories of so many women. I was amazed and humbled reading your tales of strength and survival through so many of life's challenges. So now, I will attempt to share my life and adventures via blogging (read: Tyler I can already hear you laughing). My plan (the one and only one I concocted) was to start a Marriage and Family Therapy program (MFT) in the fall. Several weeks ago, I found out that God has different plans for me. The program to which I applied only accepted 12 students. T-W-E-L-V-E, yes. I assumed that I would be accepted but was not. Currently, I am learning how to be flexible and patient. I don't typically shift gears well, so I'm sure this is just a life lesson. I have been applying for jobs and praying to get some calls for interviews! I am determined to be excited and believe that there are good things in store.
