Sex and the City 2

As pretty much every woman in America knows, Sex and the City 2 comes out this week! I am beyond excited. The first SATC movie was an answered prayer. I have seen every. single. episode. of the series. And not the watered down version that comes on TBS. What an amazing show it was. There is nothing like the relationships, adventures and situations that Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda encounter. I think this show became popular due to that fact that every woman can identify with these women and their struggles and triumphs in life and love. I identify most with Charlotte. Charlotte is the eternal optimist. She believes in true love, good manners and conservative values.

But I think find a little bit of myself in all 4 women. In honor of the premiere, I wanted to include some of my favorite quotes from the series.

"When Charlotte really liked somebody she said their whole name. It helped her picture their future monogrammed towels."-Charlotte

"Sexy is the thing I try to get them to see me as after I win them over with my personality."-Miranda

"The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you always come home to. Sometimes it's the family you're born into and sometimes it's the one
you make for yourself."-Carrie

Charlotte: Imagine, being blind and not being able to see a beautiful day like today. Can you think of anything worse?
Anthony: Stonewashed jeans and a matching jacket.

"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”-Carrie

Can't wait to see it!!! xo

Wordy Wednesday

The past couple of weeks have been so crazy. I feel like I have been staying so busy but not really accomplishing much. I drove the remainder of the boyfriend's belongings down to Florida in a U-Haul truck on Saturday. This was my first U-Haul experience and hopefully (but probably not) my last. I really hate long drives. I always have really. I think it stems from my childhood road trips with my family. I love my family, but 4 young children in the backseat of a minivan for 4 hours is dreadful. When I think back to those days I think of the pinching, biting, "he touched me first", and my dad's threats to pull the car over. Sunday I flew back alone. I managed to finish Heart of the Matter while sitting in the airport. Just like the rest of her novels, I could not put it down. It was sort of similar to Love the One You're With but still immensely entertaining. (Love the One You're With is still my favorite). I cannot read on a plane unless I'm already well into the book. Mostly because I'm nervous. There will never come a time that I'm not talking to God during take off.

We made tacos and watched Modern Family tonight. If you are not familiar with Modern Family you should go to abc.com immediately and catch up. The entire first season is on their website. It truly is the best new show on television. It's absolutely hilarious. I sure do love my television. I'm particularly excited about the Bachelorette starting on Monday night. Go ahead and judge me. After the catastrophe that was Jake's season, I swore I wouldn't be watching again. Well, surprise. I am also VERY excited for the Sex and the City 2 movie. I'm hoping to see it the night it comes out with my two best girlfriends from home.
In other news, I am STILL searching for a job. I'm primarily looking in the Tampa/St.Petersburg area so hopefully something will turn up soon. If you have any tips/suggestions/ideas let me know.

Cha Cha Cha Changes!

Graduation weekend has come and gone. I remember in February thinking that May was so far away. Yet now, here we are. My family came and celebrated with me. As I think about moving, I think about how hard it will be to be so far away from my family. I absolutely loathe change, really, I do. I live for routine and predictability (Thank you Mom for the type A personality). It just takes me a little longer than most to shift gears.

TG got the job in FL so he headed down early this morning to find a place to live. At risk of sounding disgustingly lovey dovey, I feel like part of me is missing. It hasn't even been 24 hours since he left. (yuck, I know.)

In other news, I am beyond frustrated with the job search. I feel like I have applied for like 2.5 million jobs. (It's probably more like 30 or 40). The roommates and I (+ EP) made fondue (semi-successfully). The house I picked up Emily Giffin's new book "Heart of the Matter" today at Target. I love love love ALL of her books and cannot wait to dive right into this one. Once I finish HOTM, I'm hoping to read American Wife. I've heard good things.

Two Blog Tuesday

I am finally getting the hang of blogging. Each day I find a new blog to follow. It's becoming somewhat of an addiction. It has been rainy the past two days so Barkley hasn't gotten to go for a walk or get any exercise at all (which he really does need). I've tried to explain to him that if you eat more calories than you expend, you get chubby. Barkley is a 10 month old golden retriever. In addition to being called Barkley, he also goes by fatty, fat sack, and big boy. He really isn't as fat as everyone jokes he is. He's just still quite fluffy. I don't care if he does have an eager appetite, I love him just the same. I keep telling him I'm going to have to switch him to off-brand dog food if I don't find a job soon. He just rolls over onto his back and kicks his legs. Not a care in the world. Blissfully unaware.
How do you grow from this?

To this?

The boyfriend got a job yesterday so we're going to dinner to celebrate tonight. xo

This may be the cutest thing I've ever seen. Not to mention, really incredible. The movie follows 4 babies from different parts of the world. Here's the trailer.

Career Field of Dreams.

I've started getting really excited about the idea of having a job. Being a career girl means I will be making money. Making money means I will be able to buy lots of fun things. One of my girlfriends was saying that the first thing she wanted to buy once she started making money was a car. Luckily, my Toyota Camry (Thelma is her name), has been ever so faithful. Hopefully I will not have to purchase a new car for several years. While she is not the most luxurious car, she sure is reliable! I decided I should start keeping track of all the wonderful things I hope to buy once I do start working. Hopefully this will be sooner than later.
Here are some things I have my eye on:

1) These pumps. They may appear similar to the Tory Burch Wedges from the previous post, but they are actually way different.

2) These Ray-Ban oversized wayfares

3) This Lilly Pulitzer Summer Scarf.

4) These David Yurman Earrings (These are actually the peridot but I want the pearl.)

I'm sure the list will grow but that's all for now.
