Monday Mash-up

Over the weekend, I planted.
Succulents + a green pot + soil = A mini garden of sorts.

We got out of the city and headed up to the lake for some down time. (And some awkward individual photos, obviously).

As you can tell, it's still quite chilly around these parts.

I ordered this scarf.
Perfect for summer.

I decided I need a set of this dinnerware.
Lovely, right?

This morning I was so excited to hear that Giuliana and Bill Rancic are expecting a baby! Their good news was such a reminder that God's timing and plan is perfect.

And...somewhat related:
How is it possible that Jessica Simpson is still pregnant? I don't understand.

Have a great Monday!

TG continues to make remarks that our apartment looks "too girly".

[Referring to the coffee table books...domino, the perfectly imperfect home, etc] "Why do we have those stupid girl books? That one has a pink bird on it."

[Referring to the coasters from furbish] "Can those go somewhere else?"

[Looking over my shoulder while I'm browsing more furbish goodness on their website] "That place only sells crazy colorful girl shit."

You get the idea.

I'm trying to figure out some ways to incorporate some gender-neutral or even a little bit masculine items into our shared humble abode.

Here are some items I think may help.

Look at me...compromisin' and stuff.

*The coffee table books stay.

Do you have this problem? Suggestions?

Tray lurve.

I can't get enough trays lately.
Big ones. Little ones. Round ones. Square ones.
To sit candles on. To hold remotes. To contain clutter.
Lurve. All around lurve!
P.S. My bar needs the gold one in a big way. However, I'm fearful of what TG may say if one more "girly" thing is added to our place.
Baby steps.

Terrace Additions

We are in the process of trying to decide whether or not we want to move to a different apartment in the city or stay where we are. City living is all about trade-offs.  Our place now has great outdoor space (a large terrace), which we love.  However, we're really tempted by the allure of living in a different neighborhood.   We would also love to have a gym in our building.  I've started the process of looking at places with our real estate person just to see what's out there.  The potential next place would have to be really great in order for us to leave our current place though.

If we stay in our current place, we are thinking we will put money towards making our terrace space great.  Here are some of the things I have in mind...

Lighting. Fun Pillows. Gas Grill. Table & Chairs. Cute Serve-ware (to come). I'm already craving an ice cold margarita.

Pops of Goodness

I'm thinking of adding a few things to my condo.  Just little pops of goodness to brighten the place up.  Unless you live under a rock, you've probably heard of Furbish.  I love the on-line shop but you really have to visit the store in order to grasp the decor-genius that is Jamie Meares.

I recently got some new coffee table books that I'm thinking need this urchin friend.
I'm still trying to pull some of the colors from my Chiang Mai pillows into other parts of the room. Perhaps this frame?
I love these glasses.  They make a great engagement gift.  Or just as an addition to your bar.

And I'm still trying to decide what color throw.  I'm thinking green. Or yellow. Or that coral-ish red. Indecisiveness at it's best.
